Secondary Transfer

Transferring from primary to secondary school is a big step for both children and parents, and you need to gather as much information as possible to help you make the right decisions. If your child is in year six of primary school in September 2022, you will need to apply for them to start their secondary education for September 2023.

You can register and apply online at eAdmissions. Online admissions open on 1st September 2022. The application deadline is 31st October 2022. Applications can be made after this date but will be treated as late applications. You can view guidance in our step-by-step guide to applying online.

Places at all Enfield secondary schools will be allocated in line with the published admissions arrangements, which can be found in Your guide to secondary schools in Enfield.

Visiting Secondary Schools

If your child has an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP), the arrangements for your child’s transfer will be different. Please contact the SEN Services Team directly to explain the process further.

You can search for primary, secondary and special needs schools in Enfield and across England by visiting GOV.UK. Here you can access Ofsted reports, information on school performance and approximate home-to-school distances. These are only a guide, as Enfield School Admissions Services use their own specialist systems to measure distances when allocating places in Enfield.
