Houses/Captains

From Year 1 to Year 6 every child at Eversley is part of a school house team.

We often use the house teams when grouping children for different activities and for sporting competitions. We like the children to have coloured house t-shirts so that they can be identified and easily grouped in lessons as well as other events such as partnership sports and sports days. Our supplier for school uniform, Smiths Schoolwear in Cockfosters, currently stock PE t-shirts in the four house team colours:

Role and Expectations of House and Vice House Captains

The role of House and Vice House Captains are ones of privilege, pride and responsibility. They are more than just a title and badge and require dedication and commitment for an entire year. The children take part in active citizenship, whereby they lead a series of charitable events throughout the school. This may include major national events e.g Children in Need to more local events e.g food collection for the North Enfield foodbank. At the beginning of each year the House and Vice Captains put their proposals forward to the head teacher who sanctions the activities and fundraising events.

House Captains are elected by the children in their House after giving a speech about what they can offer their House. All children in years 3-6 vote for their House Captains. There is a boy and girl House Captain and a boy and girl Vice Captain selected for each House.

Each Captain will be different and will contribute an assortment of skills and ideas to the job.
